This necklace consists of a sterling silver sand cast from a clay model, framed in bezel setting of copper, fine silver & sterling silver. Copper chain & sterling silver catch are purchased.
Thank you! I've been thinking about trying Delft clay because it's supposed to result in a smooth, clear casting. While I like the textured look of the sand, Delft would be an interesting alternative.
You should! I taught myself how to do it from the book, "Practical Casting, A Studio Reference" by Tim McCreight. The instructions in this book are straightforward. Also, it's a lot of fun & lends itself to a lot of goofy experimenting.
Keep up the beautiful work!!
