Nice, I have just started experimenting with sand as well. I find Delft clay better for me. But, I love the way you have incorporated the look :)

Thank you! I've been thinking about trying Delft clay because it's supposed to result in a smooth, clear casting. While I like the textured look of the sand, Delft would be an interesting alternative.

And, you can use your frame that you use for sand with it as well. The only difference is that you have to make air vents. The detail can be amazing.

You should! I taught myself how to do it from the book, "Practical Casting, A Studio Reference" by Tim McCreight. The instructions in this book are straightforward. Also, it's a lot of fun & lends itself to a lot of goofy experimenting.
